Among the proposals were the promotion of mixed financing and the establishment of the Water Finance Coalition. In addition, the importance of water diplomacy in resolving transboundary water conflicts as well as the linkages between environmental security and water security were highlighted.

Among relevant issues of internal work of the Council was the representation of all parts of our planet in the organization. Today, Africa, Central Asia, and Russia are poorly represented in the World Water Council.

There was a great interest in Russia and its water policy. This interest is reinforced by the fact that Russia ranks second in the world in terms of fresh water availability and can become a guarantor of water security at the international level.

Despite this potential, our Foundation is still Russia’s only representative on the World Water Council.
