A year ago, reforestation specialists carried out a large-scale campaign to plant seedlings in forest areas affected by fires. 15,000 pine and cedar seedlings were planted on the site of the lost forest – more than 5 hectares in total. Specialists selected the species closest to the lost composition, and the planting material itself was provided by local nurseries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year the staff of the \u2018Lake Baikal\u2019 Foundation assessed the condition of the seedlings – natural reforestation was difficult in the selected areas, but thanks to agrotechnical care and creation of favourable conditions the seedlings took root.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
