The tourist season in Zabaikalsky national park started later than usual, but according to preliminary estimates, the number of visitors will exceed the figures of last year. In order to prevent the growth of anthropogenic pressure on the unique ecosystem of Lake Baikal, we decided to strengthen the educational component of the <a href=\"https:\/\/baikalfoundation.ru\/en\/our-work\/sustainable-tourism\/trash-free-national-parks\/\">\u00abTrash Free National Parks\u00bb<\/a> program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout the summer, volunteers work in Zabaikalsky national park to explain to visitors the rules of responsible waste management: how to prevent excessive waste formation, why the \u00abCarry In \u2013 Carry Out\u00bb principle is so important and how to correctly use the separate waste collection points located in the park&#8217;s campsites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition eco-activists from Ulan-Ude conduct workshops and lectures on nature for children and adults on the topic of caring for the environment and responsible consumption. The events were specifically supported by partners from among representatives of local small and medium-sized businesses as well as the administration of the Barguzinsky district of the Republic of Buryatia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An entire eco-school was formed on the basis of the <a href=\"https:\/\/baikalfoundation.ru\/en\/our-work\/sustainable-tourism\/trash-free-national-parks\/\">\u00abTrash Free National Parks\u00bb<\/a> program through which hundreds of tourists and volunteers passed during the season. By learning about responsible tourism, sorting and recycling waste, caring for wildlife and immediately applying them in practice, they establish appropriate environmental habits in their lifestyle.
