{"id":6717,"date":"2020-12-04T22:10:53","date_gmt":"2020-12-04T19:10:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/baikalfoundation.ru\/?p=6717"},"modified":"2020-12-09T13:22:52","modified_gmt":"2020-12-09T10:22:52","slug":"point-no1-data-is-published-in-the-scientific-reports-journal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/baikalfoundation.ru\/en\/point-no1-data-is-published-in-the-scientific-reports-journal\/","title":{"rendered":"Point No1 data is published in the Scientific Reports journal"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>57 scientists representing more than 50 scientific organizations from 22 countries published the article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41598-020-76873-x?fbclid=IwAR3wrHm8RCbGvpuOv0yqrc85sYZvL6l6vuC-Ql-Q7hEhwue55miGXbqCzNg\">\u00abDeeper waters are changing less consistently than surface waters in a global analysis of 102 lakes\u00bb<\/a> in  the Scientific Reports journal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To conduct the study, scientists had to collect temperature\u00a0profiles from 102 lakes covering five continents and analyze their changes over the past 50 years. Information on the state of deep and surface waters in Russia was provided by data on lake Baikal and lake Kurilskoye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result, scientists concluded that the water temperature in the depths of lakes did not respond to climate change in a similar way as surface waters did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The data of the <a href=\"https:\/\/baikalfoundation.ru\/en\/our-work\/water-conservation\/point-no1\/\">\u00abPoint No1\u00bb<\/a> monitoring program, which has been conducted without interruptions for over 75 years, formed the basis for the description of the Baikal water&#8217;s state.
