Thus, the prize fund of 1 million rubles will be divided between four winning projects in two nominations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The winner of the Basic and Applied Research in the Field of Water Resources Conservation nomination is<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>the Characteristic of Lake Baikal Viromes Using High-Throughput Sequencing: Genetic and Functional Diversity, Assessment of Viral Contamination project under the lead of Sergey A. Potapov.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The winners of the Applied Scientific Research and Scientific and Technical Activities in Specially Protected Natural Territories nomination are&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Rescue of the Khamar-Daban Group of Forest Subspecies of Wild Reindeer in the Central Part of the Khamar-Daban Range project under the lead of Aleksey V. Kitaev;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Biodestruction of Organic Waste Products at Lake Baikal Territory with Use of Insects project under the lead of Maxim D. Dagbaev.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By the decision of the Presidium, another winner is the continuing project of one of the 2019 Baikal Initiative contest\u2019s winners called<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Educational Tourism as a Tool for Nature Complex Conservation under Conditions of Pyrogenic and Anthropogenic Load project under the lead of Natalya M. Luzhkova.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The winning projects of the 2020 Baikal Initiative contest are highly relevant to the current environmental challenges of the Baikal natural territory.
