17 February 2019 Moscow saw the final of the school «green» projects contest «Ecopolis». Anastasia Tsvetkova, the CEO of Lake Baikal Foundation, became a judge of the environmental contest.
The project was launched in October 2018 in 100 Moscow schools. The contest supports environmental and social projects created by students and aimed at urban problems solution. For the first time in Russian school education children got an opportunity to use the augmented reality technology and visualize the principles of «green» building, circular economy, renewable energy, etc.

№1228 «Lefortovo»; Elina Kasaeva, 9th grade, school №152; Alexandra Melekhina, Ilya Gulyakin, Ivan Philippov – the winners in junior category; Artem Kaurov, 10th grade, Economic Lyceum after G.V. Plekhanov; Theodor Starynin, «Station of Young Naturalists»; Arina Goryunova, the school «Sodruzhestvo».
Such type of practical environmental education for children is extremely important for development of eco culture of the whole population. The essential part of environmental education lies within fostering students’ interest in nature protection as well as in technological approach to environmental solutions.
