On July, 30, 2018 info-portal Project +1 posted a review on a new trend – ecological tourism. It contains detailed description of the principles of such kind of recreation and its differences from common tourism which turns important elements of the environment into decline. This includes gravelling natural coastlines, water pollution with sewage, making camping sites on animals’ migration routes, etc. Unlike that ecotourism matches the term «responsibility».
Anastasia Tsvetkova revealed one more kind of sustainable tourism – scientific expeditions in which tourists contact with wildlife together with specialists from reserves and scientists. In such a way ecotourism contributes to study of flora and fauna. Beside that, CEO of the Foundation mentioned the importance of qualitive infrastructure for such kind of tourism: trails; camping sites which match ecological standards; maps of ecoroutes with further control system; guides’ training.
Lake Baikal Foundation has already begun to work in this direction in June 2018, when it organized the first scientific expedition with tourists «Bear Shore». The Foundation continues to promote the principle «Protection of nature is the first priopity».
