Lake Baikal Foundation taught a lesson for students of «Horoshkola» («Good School»). At class pupils dived into the topic of research and conservation of lake Baikal. The children without any difficulties guessed that exactly Baikal is the biggest freshwater reservoir in the world. During the first half of the lecture participants recognised about age, maximum depth of Baikal and its UNESCO natural heritage status.
The second part of the class was dedicated to the issue of water access, which stays urgent these days, and water footprint. Based on received theoretical knowledge, the school students were suggested to play game, in which via online application they could count their personal water footprint. At the end of the class children received several simple recommendations, following which, everybody will contribute into reduction of the water usage.
We are happy to talk with pupils about crucial topics and broaden their horizons on Baikal. Lake Baikal Foundation highly appreciates the possibility given by «Horoshkola».
