In October 2020, Lake Baikal Foundation signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Marine Mammal Council.
The Marine Mammal Council (MMC) is a non-governmental, non-profit public organization that unites specialists in marine mammals and people who are not indifferent to the issues and problems associated with the conservation and study of marine mammals.
The MMC develops research programs in the field of marine mammal study and conservation, provides methodological and organizational support to specialists and organizations interested in this topic and conducts its own research in this area.
The signing of a bilateral agreement between the Foundation and the MMC confirmed the organizations’ intention to expand cooperation in the field of the Baikal seal research. MMC specialists are ready to share their unique expertise on seals, which is necessary for carrying out current and planned activities to study the Baikal endemic.
