Negotiations with representatives of the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District took place on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum. During the meetings organized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, Anastasia Tsvetkova, Director General of the Foundation, presented the organization’s projects in the areas of «Water Conservation», «Biodiversity Conservation», «Sustainable Tourism». The Amur Region, the Sakhalin Region, and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) have shown interest in the Foundation’s initiatives for the following reasons:
- the initiatives are based on a research approach;
- projects bring together stakeholders;
- The projects are aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals through the prism of the challenges of specific regions.
Anastasia Tsvetkova noted that the Foundation does not exclude the expansion of activities to other entities, but the focus of project attention will remain the current areas in which the Foundation has accumulated some expertise and continues to deepen it. We are talking about water resources management and biodiversity conservation.
As a result of the event, the Director General of the Foundation received an invitation to participate in the Eurasian Women’s Forum, at which a separate discussion track will be devoted to the role of women in sustainable development.
The Foundation expresses its gratitude to the Agency for Strategic Initiatives for the invitation to the Eastern Economic Forum. The results of the Foundation’s work at the Forum can also be found via the link.
