On February 19, 2021, an online meeting of Lake Baikal Foundation with students and colleagues from the ecological community was held at the Boiling Point of Buryat State University (BSU). The discussion was the first in a series of lectures by expert mentors on the topic of sustainable development, organized by Boiling Point. The moderator of the webinar was Timur Badmatsyrenov, Head of the BSU Project Office.
Anastasia Tsvetkova, CEO of the Foundation, made a presentation on the organization’s activities, including its mission and international presence. Project Manager Ekaterina Terentyeva spoke in detail about «Trash Free National Parks» program and «Baikal Nature Reserve School» project, which received the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation in 2019 and 2021.
Genghis Bolotov and Ivan Loginov, environmental activists from Ulan–Ude, authors and participants of the regional initiative «Garbage from the Head», also shared their experience in implementing environmental projects.
Lake Baikal Foundation is open to the exchange of experience in the implementation of programs that help the sustainable development of the Baikal natural territory. The formation and expansion of a community of experts, practitioners and specialists interested in training and implementing Sustainable Development Goals at the local level is a priority task for successful cooperation in the field of ecology.
