Head of the program «Russia in Asia-Pacific Region» of Carnegie Moscow Center. His research interests involve Russian policy in A/P, political and ideological movements in China and its relationship with its neighbors, particularly with Russia and Central Asia countries. Previously Alexander was deputy chief editor in magazine «Kommersant-Vlast’» and member of editorial board of publishing house «Kommersant». He started his career in «Kommersant» in 2007 as a journalist covering Russian policy in Asia and CIS countries as well as the role of big national companies in Russian foreign policy. He was a member of presidential pool of Dmitry Medvedev. Alexander Gabuev graduated from Higher School of Economics as a specialist in stock markets and investments (2013), from Lomonosov Moscow State University (Institute of Asia and Africa) as a Bachelor and Master of History of China (2007, 2009).
